ideas downtown houston apartments

With the end of the year coming up quickly, some residents of our downtown Houston apartments are looking for ways to use the PTO they’ve saved up all year. If you’re in the same boat, we think you’ll find some useful ideas in the blog post below. This week’s post is all about day trip destinations that are within a few hours of downtown Houston.

Living in Houston means having nearly unlimited options when it comes to fun day trip destinations. We did our best to whittle the list down to three of the most popular spots. We love day trips as a vacation option because they don’t require much planning or preparation — all you have to do is gas up your car and go!

Let’s jump right into the list of day trip destinations, shall we? When you’re done reading through the blog post below, please be sure to share the link to this page with your friends. Better yet, go ahead and share it with your neighbors at your community of Houston luxury apartments!

Galveston Island

Don’t let the cooler weather keep you from planning a trip to Galveston Island. While you might not feel like jumping in the ocean, you’ll still find plenty to do on this Gulf Coast island — located just 50 miles from downtown Houston. Galveston Island is great for antique shopping, seafood dining and long walks along the boardwalk. The island has a ton of history, which you can read about ahead of time by clicking the link above!

Blessington Farms

Day trips are fun for the memories, but they’re even more fun when you get to take a piece of your destination back home with you. At Blessington Farms, you can do exactly that. This is a great place to go if you want to find fresh fruits and vegetables for an end-of-the-weekend meal. It’s a kid-friendly place, but adults can have plenty of fun here too. Grab some fresh food and bring it home to your kitchen at your luxurious downtown Houston apartments!

Brazos Bend State Park

Want to see an alligator? Most people say no to that question, but we know some of our residents have an adventurous side. Brazos Bend State Park — located just 40 miles from downtown Houston — is filled with gators. It’s got six lakes, all of which are filled with and surrounded by some of the coolest animals that Texas has to offer. Check this place out next time you feel like escaping the city, residents
